The ability to grow your own facial hair really comes in handy here. Temporary dyes are available if you're not a brunette: If you can't "grow your own", things get a bit trickier. Casual costumers can find an inexpensive, officially licensed beard and mustache combo here. (Or click on the photo below.) If you're a purist, this combo is probably not up to your standards. Kryolan's (expensive) beard style "C" and mustache style "10" can handle all your facial hair needs, provided you combine them with braids from 'I Kick Shins. Also get some spirit gum to hold everything together: For a cheaper alternative to the Kryolan combo, combine one of the mustaches below with a long costume beard that you cut and braid yourself: Lynch's Theatrical Department Store Only for the hardcore! You can make your own facial hair and get exactly what you want, but the technique takes some practice. Other than the braids, what you create won't be reusable. First, you'll need some crepe wool and some spirit gum: Morbid Mask Studios (UK) Next, scroll down to the 'Beard Laying' instructions in this useful tutorial from Graftobian. You'll want to create your braids and bead them before attaching them to your beard. Jack's beard braids are 4-5 inches long (11-12 cm) and have two small beads at the end of each one.
